Sampling
It is important that the samples are taken from as deep in the lungs as possible. Saliva does not suffice as a sample.
Give a cough and spit the sample directly into the sample container with a screw cap. Close the cap tightly. Make sure that the cap threads are properly screwed in place to prevent the container from leaking.
The name label is necessary for identifying the sample
Stick a label on to the sample container. Write on it:
- your name
- your social security number
- date of sample
Put the sample in a plastic bag. Close the plastic bag tightly.
You can keep the sample at home in a refrigerator (+2 ºC - +8 ºC). Make sure to deliver the sample to the laboratory on the day it was taken.
Samples that have not been taken or packed correctly cannot be examined.
